The reason you lost weight when you stopped taking insulin is due to the fact that the glucose could not get into the cells, and therefore built up in the blood. Your body uses its fluids to get rid of the excess glucose, and you end up losing weight because your cells are basically starving. Insulin does not cause you to gain weight, it simply "unlocks" the cells so they can take in enough glucose to function properly. However, not taking insulin is a SERIOUS health risk, because it allows your blood sugars to run high, causing damage to your eyes, kidneys, liver; basically all of your organs are suffering. If you are having weight troubles, KEEP TAKING INSULIN but talk to your dietition to see if he/she can help you find the right diet regimen to maintain a healthy weight.

If you are taking insulin because you are diabetic, you are a very foolish person. No one starts and stops taking insulin unless a doctor (read my lips), a real doctor tells them to! There are many other factors that cause weight gain and loss. You need to get back to a good doctor and get your problems under control, weight loss and gain is dangerous. You are setting yourself up for a big fall.

You really need to talk to your doctor about this. Diabeties is very serious. Without your insulin, you could die. Is that worth being thin? NO ONE can answer this question for you. You shouldn't even ask it here. You should only be talking to your doctor.

You are headed for dealth....frankly. Who is ordering the insulin for you? Are they not aware of your abuse of yourself? You ever see someone die of hypo or hyperglycemic episodes? I have. Stop your madness. You are using a serious drug as if its nothing.
