most probably the condition is postural hypotension (when you are sleep the calf muscles are relaxed and they fail to pump the blood back to the heart efficiently so when you get up you feel dizzy for some while till your calf muscles regain their tone and then they can pump the blood again to the heart efficiently and for this action the calf muscles are known as the preferal heart) it is so common work out a little pit and you will feel bettter

I'm 22 years old and I expereince dizziness when I get out of bed in the morning. If I get out too fast, I almost fall over and have to take a minute to steady myself. What I would recommend is when you wake up in the morning I would sit up slowly in bed for a minute and let your body adjust. Then I would swing my legs over the side of the bed and adjust for another minuted. Then I would stand up slowly and wait a minute to see if the dizziness comes. I found that if I get up slowly I don't experience the dizziness or as much. A lot of people experience vertigo when standing up after laying or sitting for a long period of time.

I would ask you if you take blood pressure medicine? Some medicines can have that as a side effect of that medicine. If you didn't make yourself clear enough to you doctor and he can't figure it out I sugges you find someone else that will listen to you needs. Who wants to start out your day in such a manner. Does your doctor know all of the meds you are taking from other doctors etc. There is a site you can visit that tells you if there is an interaction of drugs toward another. Wish you well.

You are at the age where these problems arise due to improper functioning of the heart. I am a cardiac nurse and I have seen alot of admissions with these problems. I don't know what test (s) your family doctor might have done but my question to you is
Why is your blood pressure or HEART RATE like? Did he do an ECG? If this problem persists go to the emergency dep't. You maybe experiencing what is called Sick Sinus Syndrome.

My mother-in-law experiences the same problem and she has a mal functioning heart.

She also has a poor diet.

I would suggest foods high in potassium like bananas to alleviate the dizziness. See if that helps.

For the heart, I would consult with your family doctor.

Your doctor should have checked blood pressure and blood sugar levels, and for any ear problems.

Diziness when you sit up or stand is common for low blood pressure.

Staying a moment at a sitting and standing position will help stabilize it. Tensing and relaxing your leg muscles can help get your blood pressure up before you stand.

If this continues and you have no explanation see another doctor or ask for a referral to a specialist.

when you get up, get up slower, sit on the side of the bed for a while to let the heart get the blood up to your brain, after a few minutes, you should be able to stand up with out any problems. Did the doctor check your ears? an inner ear infection might interfere with your balance and make you nautious.

set an alarm 10 minutes before your planning to get up.
Use that time to calm down
close your eyes and relax and hopefully you should feel a little better when you get out of bed !

Get a blood pressure cuff. Put it on when you first wake up

then record it as you sit up

Give this data to your Dr.

Sounds like low BP BTDT

Might be a circulation problem
