I'm going to my new boyfriends house for a week and we're going to be obviously sleeping. Well, I snore. Not horribly so. But I only have on lung so it's more of a breathing/snore thing. I need something that will work for a few days. I can't have surgery because it's so close. Any suggestions?

Avoid drinking alcohol, eating heavy meals at least 4 hours before going to sleep. Nasal passages can be kept clear using a humidifier, inhaling steam, nasal strips and nasal sprays. A continuous positive airways pressure (CPAP) machine may also help, but it is available only on prescription.More remedies

They make sprays that coat the back of your throat....its some mixture of olive oil...so in a quick fix drink a teaspoon of olive oil before bed..If he loves you though he should understand, with one lung you have a really good excuse to snore....I wouldnt jeopardize your health in order to save embarrassment....if you all get very serious this will come out soone ror later.....maybe explain it to him. I am sure your snoring is not as bad as it sounds..its the ones (like my husband) who dont care at all who hears them that snore the worst....

Go to the dentist and get your tonsils removed. If they don't need to be removed, you can still have your adenoids removed. Those are little useless things we have in our throat.
Sleep with a support under your neck so your head can recline. If you close off your airways, you'll snore.

I really hope you've discussed this with him prior to being invited. It's important that he know. Keep you out of an embarrasing situation. Will other family be around? If so, make sure you ask him to be in a separate room from others and explain why.

Have you tried the breathing strips that they sell in drug stores? They hold your nasal passages open more so that you are less likely to snore. Or at least, that's the idea.

ha i had this when i first went to my boyfriends house to sleep. If you go to your pharmacy you can purchase dome nose drops that you take before going to sleep which stop you snoring (and will also stop the humiliation).
Good luck hun xx
