Hi. I'm 43 and 2 years ago I had 2 surgeries to clip an anerysm in my right frontal brain with no aparent damage. I also have spells of tussive syncopy where I'll cough a bit and pass out but they only knock me out few a few seconds. Well, yesterday I hadn't gotten much sleep the night before, about 2 hours and I worked really hard for two hours doing physical work and got really over heated. Then I cooled off and sat down. When my husband got home I was unconsious and slumped over with my eyes open but rolled back in my head and there was foam coming from my mouth. I woke up in the ambulance and was at the hospital most of the night. They did a C.A.T. scan and ekg and stuff but found nothing. I'm gonna ask my Dr. today for an E.E.G. .What could it have been ? Do I need to get in to the nuerologist ? Is this an emergency ?

To lose consciousness for more than a few seconds is serious and you need to know the cause.

yes, it is an emergency! What if you were driving while this happened? You probably wouldn't be here to talk about it. It could be a million things, anything from a severe allergy to a brain tumor. It is not a time to try to self-diagnose. Yes, go to a neurologist and at least refrain from driving until this is resolved. I know of 2 accidents locally where innocent people were killed due to a driver who had a KNOWN medical condition and who shouldn't have been driving. Dont' add to that statistic at least. For your own peace of mind, do not rest until you find a doctor who supplies an answer, this is not normal and could be very serious!

Emergency... yes. Anytime you pass out and have those symptoms you have a need for medical attention. Since you have had brain surgery before and had issues with coughing and passing out, there seems to be a sensitivity with your brain touching your inner skull. Perhaps there is less liquid in the area of the surgery. All this is very speculative on my part. I would get every test out there. There is also a radioactive die test to watch the flow of blood in the body. Try that with exercise and see if they shows something. All my best wishes to you. Hope this helps.

In you case think you should check it out. For me after a long flight 30 plus hours with little to no sleep and jet lag I passed out for about 45 minutes. My wife called 911 they rushed me to the ER, did an EKG and many other tests and never found anything wrong. Think it was fatigue.

It does not sound good. This is serious shooting from the hip, but I would start with the word "Epilepsy". Don't panic, there is an herbal protocol that is very effective (unfortunately I don't have it on me at the moment, I'm at my daughters) Find PRESCRIPTION FOR NUTRITIONAL HEALING by the Balch's, and read their recommendations. Send me a message if you need more info, and I'll see if I can dig it up.

Sounds like heatstroke to me. Heatstroke can cause seizure-like symptoms. It doesn't sound like you had any major damage, but you should definitely find out what caused it (from a doctor) so it doesn't happen again.
