The window period is about 3 months... so you could go for a test now. Catching a cold that won't go away is another symptom... and TB... or getting something REALLY rare in your area...
Just go for the test.

I've heared you need to wait 6 months for HIV to show up in your blood but that was a while ago so things might have changed since then. Either way you should go to your dr asap - there are other things that you should get tested for too and the sooner you are diagnosed (hopefully you won't be diagnosed with anything!) the sooner you can start treatment and the faster and better your recovary will be. Some things you can catch from sex don't have symptoms so don't wait in the hope that you will notice if you do develop symptoms. Don't put off going to the dr - they deal with stuff like this every day so no need to be embarassed or anything like that and it will stop you worrying needlessly. Hopefully all your tests will be clear :) Good luck xx

If you are afraid just go get a simple blood test, they will tell you in minutes. HIV isn't a death sentence anymore they have done wonderful things in the last few months. don't be worried get it checked out and then be real careful from now on. as far as HIV if can stay dormant for the rest of your life but you can spread it like a angel of death, if you do have unprotected sex you are a murderer and will be put behind bars, so stop worrying get the test you will sleep a lot better after.

A test would be very accurate at this point in time. Go get tested and relieve you worries. As for early symptoms, it would be very unlikely that you would have any major sympoms. Some experience flu-like symptoms, but they only last a week or two. You might want to consider retesting at 6-months. Most health care providers will tell you nowadays that it isn't necessary though. Good luck! You'll be fine.

My understanding about the hiv antibodies is that it can take up to 3 months to develop. That is why patients who are at risk, are given a test. And if the results are negative, they ask them to retest in 3 months just to make sure. Unless they keep on having unprotected sex which makes it harder and its a neverending cycle.

3 months. And take my advice... Use orasure. It's a lot less akward than a blood test.
