for example, what vitamins/foods/drinks are best for making your skin healthy and clear? i am a vegetarian, and have noticed my skin is not clear anymore since becoming veggie. im wondering if because im lacking protein this is why my skin is getting bad.

Actually the reverse is true. Too much protein is bad for your skin. You've seen dogs with "hot spots" right? Itchy, burning, hair loss. That's too much protein in a dog's diet.

The same goes for you. All these women losing their hair and using a bunch of product to slow it down just need to cut back on the protein. And switch to a shampoo that does use sodium laurel (or laureth) sulfate.

How long have you been vegetarian? Your skin is your largest detoxifying organ. If you've been veg under a year, it's very likely that what you're experiencing is detox. All the toxins from meat, stored in your body fat, is coming out your skin.

It may also be a simple change in your system that has nothing to do with diet. But - diet can remedy the problem. Nutritional Yeast is good for skin. Kombucha tea is good for skin. Fresh fruits and veggies are good for skin. Udo's Omega blend is very good for skin. Omegas 3, 6 and 9.

Good luck!

First of all, we must consider what is bad for our skin: Coffee, chocolate, chips, ice cream, greasy food...
Make sure you are not constipated because that could definitely affect your skin. Stress can also cause breakouts. It could also be hormonal. So it would be good to check with a doctor.
Maybe if you have just turned veggie, your body is detoxing and that is why you have more pimples. Veggie diet does not aggravate skin but should help.
Other than that, Aloe Vera juice and Flax oil, silica are supposed to be good for your skin. Drink lots of water.
Another think you could do is to go to a herbalist and get a natural tea formula that can help clear your skin.
Good luck.

I was a vegetarian for several years back in the Stoned Age ( early 1970's)

What I noticed was this- if you eat clean food and drink tons of water your skin stays clear. If you adopt the whole hippie package and add pot smoking to your daily routine, your skin will breakout no matter WHAT kind of food you are eating.

Smoking anything will not only make you break out but you'll wrinkle faster than non smokers.

Try a fast for a few days to get whatever toxins are in you out. Check with a health food expert for a safe cleansing fast ( like fruit juice one day, veggie juice second day, fruit juice 3rd day then slowly adding simple foods back)

Vitamin A is good for your hair and skin. Take some vitamin A pills. See the link below. Hope it helps.

Since you're a vegan you shouldn't have such a problem, unless you miss some vegetables and fruits. First, you need to drink lots of water (try to avoid soft drinks), eat salads everyday (not forgetting lettuce and alfalfa), and try to eat juicy fruits such as: watermelons, papayas, pineapples and so. Hope to help you.

Put some Aloe Vera in you water and drink at least once per day. A good anti-bacterial soap should help also.
