choose food to match something in the movie(s).
-Place - chinese, cajun, mexican, southern, italian, philadelphia cheese steaks, etc.

-comedy night - have fun with the food - look at ideas for kids cooking and parties --there is often fun things like sandwiches made to look like faces, cookies that look like fingers, etc

-scary movie - do Halloween cooking : eyeball cookies, dark punch, etc.

-romanitic movie - candles, wine, small appetizers (including oysters!), whipped-cream deserts, cherry tarts, etc

-of course, decorations will help a lot. even if it's just using black napkins for a scary theme, or mexican-imprinted napkins and paper plates if your movie takes places in Mexico. And for when you're not watching the movie, some appropriate background music, too.

Depending on the types of movies you'll be watching, you can plan anything for a fun time.

If you're going to watch "The Godfather" or movies like that, you can plan an Italian feast of spaghetti and sauce, meatballs, any Italian dish that is your favorite, plus something with oranges, as it is a significant symbol of the movie.

If you like movies about sports, you can have ballpark favorites, such as hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and ice cold beer.

If your movie is set in a specific time period, you can have popular foods that were in fashion - TV dinners, baked Alaska, martinis, anything is up for grabs.

You can also make it pot luck and have your guests bring a dish that was in a movie you'll be watching, or be creative and make different things.

set up your kitchen counter or bar if you have one to resemble the snack counter.set up toppings for ice cream sundaes, the classic movie munchies, and make your own mini pizzas. or name the food you decide to serve after movie characters or movie titles and give out prizes to your guests for their funny or best names.
