why do people who hate vegetarians and vegans hang out in this section?

If all the vegetarians and vegans in Yahoo answers didn't respond to the questions asked by "vego-haters" then they amount of bullying in this section would go down. People love to think they are right, to think they are better than someone else, and that doesn't only apply to meat-eaters. Many 'vegos' egg them on and give them the attention they want, so they are just as much to blame.
I wish everyone in the "Food & Drink -- Vegetarian & Vegan" section would just post questions about the vegetarian diet and not about the ethics or reasons why people choose to go veg, and ignore the questions that don't belong there. But there are better sites to get info from about that kinda stuff anyway.

Are you aware that questions from all categories come up when you click the answer link at the top of the page? From there, anyone would see the question no matter what category it was listed under.

Just to get you all riled up. I have a friend who is vegetarian, and I tease her about it all the time. When I first started doing it, she got ticked off, but now she just takes it, and laughs. Aoother reason would be because some vegetarians go other places and preach about animal rights, and how no animals should be used as food. I respect the choice a vegetarian makes to not eat meat, but they shouldn't try to push their views off on me. I've been eating meat since I had teeth, and I love it.

I am a meat eater, but I find it useless to put others down for the way they eat. I commend you on your diet. it is just people that are hiding behind the screen that get brave.
By the way, I make a killer veggie stir fry.

I have no idea. That's always confused me. I can't understand why someone not wanting to ask a veg*n question or answer one would want to come into the section.

I know what you mean.
Its just so predictable and boring, don't you think ?
Do you think they go around their towns running into mosques shouting "hey people, didn't you know Jesus is the real God"...no, thought not....
they are just a bunch of time-wasters and its a shame they cannot leave this section alone. Its not as if its a section in Ethics or morals. Its in the FOOD section so generally is setup to discuss the diets, not the morals.

Because they're afraid. I just have to say this: SOME PEOPLE ARE VEGETARIANS FOR THEIR OWN HEALTH, and not because they're-what did that guy say?- "animal rights nazis".
It is so stupid to asume that all vegetarians are what they are because they just love animals.

Maybe they protest too much!! or they just like to wind those people with sensitive and defensive natures like you. IGNORE THEM and just concentrate on the people who you think are genuine. Works for me.
