Dr. definitely needs to re-evaluate. Yes sounds like something is wrong. Sounds like poor blood circulation.

Just because your angiogram was clear doesn't mean you have circulatory problems! A clean angiogram is fantastic news and that is not at risk for being a false report. There is about a 15-25% false positve chance on the stress test so it's very possible. Be glad that your heart is well and see about finding another dr. I wish I knew more about some of your symptoms, maybe then I could help ya out some. Do your feet or legs turn different colors? What feels worse when you stand? I'm not sure why they'd do a stress test with just the leg complaints. Let me know more if you can!

It sounds like something is wrong...but it is unclear whether your heart is the cause. I once read a book by a doctor who would tell patients, "I don't know what is causing your symptoms...yet." (The book is called "Symptoms of Unknown Origin.") Don't give up hope. Maybe things will become more obvious as more time goes by. You can do your part by paying attention to what makes your symptoms worse or better. If your doctor gives up, see if another doctor might want to help you figure out what is going on. I hope you find some answers.
As for the stress test, yes, there can be false positives. It is good that your angiogram showed no plaque. Sometimes vasospasm can cause decreased blood flow to the heart but does not necessarily show up on the angiogram, so that is a possibility you could ask him about.
Good luck in figuring it all out.

False positives do exist, but clearly you are not well. I would insist on further testing and if the cardiologist isn't able to help, ask for a referral to someone who CAN sort out your problems. Do not take NO for an answer. You do not deserve to live feeling unwell. Don't let this doctor bully you or try and tell you how YOU feel. If something is not right, seek answers. It's unfortunate, but doctors do not have all the answers (not even close). So, even though you are unwell, you need to be your strongest advocate here to discover why.

The angiogram is the "gold standard" for determining artery blockage so I would go with the m.d.'s response that the stress test was a false positive, I have never heard of a false positive angiogram.
Good health and good luck
PS- I've had many angiograms and stress tests along with seven stents,CABGx2,ICD and cardiac transplant.

Mr B:
I suggest that you get a referral to a Vascular surgeon rather than a cardiologist. Your condition sounds more vascular than cardiac.
You don't say whether you are or have been a smoker so it is hard for me to give a clue without an examination of your circulation to peripheries like feet and hands.
But I would say off hand that your problems lies in circulation overall and not in cardiac region. Also at 51 you need to be tested for diabetes. So go to it my man and get this investigated properly. Don't know why your general physician didn't recommend a vascular surgeon in the first instance!
