A sinus infection...also known as sinusitis. You had better go get some antibiotics. Sometimes it is actually a sinus infection caused by a staff infection that causes that awful smell. My daughter had an awful sinus infection caused by staff...sounds really gross, but easily treated with a zithromax.

Could be you're infected with "Pseudomonas aeruginosa". A very common bacteria, with an unmistakable bad smell, sometimes described as fruity, or rotton potato smell. Usually will give your snot (excuse the medical terminology) a greenish color. You may need antibiotics to clear it up.

Of course, if the bad smell is only when you bend over, could it be the smell is coming from the other end (only kidding)??

This sounds like a sinus infection. See your Primary Care Physician.

it could just well be the cold viruses we get every year, needs to run its course and ya treat your symptoms.
however, that smell could be a concern. People with abcesses in their throats/tonsils have the worse breath, like they were licking the inside of a boot. have it checked out to be sure.

buy some decongestant. follow the directions on the package, and check for drug interactions if you are taking any medication right now. you can ask the pharmacist about that. get some nasal spray (ocean spray)
