If they are served without the bones cut out, are you still supposed to wrap them in lettuce?? Where do you place bones or inedible bits in a Korean meal?

Can I really eat with my fingers? Is that applicable only to ribs and wrapping food in lettuce? When do I use chopsticks?

first of all, all kalbi has bones on it when served. after you are done eating the meat, its fine just to put it on the plate.

as for the boneless beef, that is called "bulgogi" literally meaning fire meat, but that is a whole diferent dish and different cut of meat. that is the beef that is wrapped in lettuce and rice and sometimes "gochujang" which is korean red pepper paste (VERRRY spicey) altho you dont have to eat it with lettuce. You can just eat it with rice.

I LOVE KALBI, even though i am not korean. i have learned it and went traveling to korea. the kalbi is almost the best gogi ive ever tasted. i usually cut mine, leaving the bone. i wrap it in lettuce, and rice & it is amazing. usually, i throw the bones out, or i use the bones to make kalbi jim, a soup cconsisting of cow bones & meat

Same as American Ribs. With your hands and for the bones have a seperate plate to place them on, or if no one is looking toss them on the floor.
