Yes, there are various types of herpies. Unfortunately, they stay in your body always. Most everyone gets a cold sore, one form of herpies (herpies simplex). Other forms cause chicken pox and shingles, genital herpes is another form. These viruses lay dormant for a time, sometimes forever, but can surface again, especially during times of stress or injury. I hope this info is some help to you.
