what is the history of beef bourguingon,besides being french?

well i need to know who invented it,when did they first make it ,and any history you can share w/me

The dish supposedly originated in the home of a French woman. She used the long cooking time in wine as a way to tenderize and make a cheap cut of meat taste better. Much of French cooking, and of all cooking for that matter, was born out of a need to make the best out of what we have.
