In the 80s, when I grew up, celery was touted as having minimal calories. Then it was touted as having minus calories, which heavy people could eat a lot of because the energy to digest it canceled the amount of energy in it. Calories = units of energy.

Anyway, what was minimized were the nutrients IN celery. Celery is very good for you. Aside from fiber, which can purify your blood and carry away toxins from your system, it contains micro-nutrients that can;'t be quanitifed but can help prevent cancer.

There are nutrients in certain foods that are not listed in nutrition grids, because they are unknown to scientists. Thats why generitically processed foods are bad for you, because the possibility these uknown computations could be erased indefinitely.

So celery has a lot of that. Eat your celery! :)
