Okay, first of all, Im doing this for my personal health... No, I dont really care for the animals and feel no remorse whenever I eat a steak... but man, going veg is being hard for me. I dont plan going full veg, but to reduce my meat consumption at least 75% less. The thing is, I have heard that some vegetarians dont eat "quimically enhanced" groceries, if so, where do you get your vegetables and stuff? How did your body react to the transition?

I dropped meat cold turkey. HA HA. I'm lame sorry.

But yeah, my family was having chicken or something, and I was tired of it, so I said I was turning vegetarian, and I haven't had meat since then. When I want soy burgers, I buy things from Morningstar

I am a vegetarian and I converted overnight. Had no problem at all. I love animals and that was the reason behind it. Better health is just the bonus for being vegetarian for me.

I think you should do it gradually. Try to eat meats 3 days of the week, say Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Then gradually reduce it to 2 days of the week. Then 1 day. Then none at all.
It may take years, months, weeks, days. Depends on how well your body adjust to the change.

Another advice is to read books/magazine on healthy eating--not necessarily vegetarian books/magazines since your concern is your health.

Good luck.

If you want to reduce meat consumption, one way is to use meat more like a condiment or garnish than a meal.

Try stir-fry, chili, soups, or stews that are mainly vegetables and only a wee little bit of meat. Also, try vegetarian "burgers", "chick patties", "ground round," stuff like that.

And now's a good time to try ethnic foods--many cultures have great vegetarian stuff. Like hummus, falafel, bulgur pilaf, tabbouleh, barley, pitas with veggies inside, Indian food...a lot of foods are either vegetarian or don't take much effort to turn vegetarian. Plus, if the foods don't have meats, you won't feel like something's "missing."

Go slow. Give yourself time to adjust. Have a meatless day each week, then raise it to 2 days without meat each week and so on till you can go vegetarian every day.

You can also try cutting out all red meat, then slowly wean yourself from chicken and other fowl, and limit yourself to only seafood, then slowly quit that.

Buy your vegetables from the farmers' market or from a quality supermarket like Whole Foods. Get organic stuff whenever you can. Tastes better.

Good luck!

listen to me, i am not going to lie to you

1,,. find out your fav veggs and fruits, dish and cook em all the time, that's your go to food,
2. find some really easy to cook vegg and fruit dish and have those food in your house, that's your backup food

3, starve yourself, I went on a 5 day water fast, I tried to eat nothing for 5 days, but by day 3 all i can think about is delicious fried tofu and some pumpkin seeds, so i cook it and ate it
when you starve yourself anything you eat after will tastes good
so you have to trick yourself into eating vegg and fruit, then you'll get used to eating it, and no more tricking is nesscerry
