I,m not a doctor but if your heart is in like a-fib it could pound like that and you would not realize that you have a-fib only that you may have a pounding heart ? Also some medicine,s can cause your heart to pound like that so you may need to change to some other kind of blood pressure medicine because your bp and pulse is normal . The best thing is go back to the doctor asap.

There are literally hundreds of medications for Hypertension ( high blood pressure) ,If you can feel your pulse "bounding" and you're having shortness of breath,I would get my self to the ER or the Md's office ASAP.Take care. SW RNP

The most common cause is anxiety, a response to stress, from within or from without or both. Not knowing your age, sex, weight and full history and physical exam, there is not enough information to give you an intelligent answer. See a compassionate cardiologist, not just any doctor. When you find one, stick with him/her. That doctor is a jewel.

how long have you been taking the meds? maybe it's not strong enough for you, call your doc this is important, or go to the hospital shortness of breath could be serious
