Some do it to get the two points. Others have severe inferiority complexes so they feel the need to insult others. Others are simply wrong. Others themselves have been 'brainwashed' to the point that they can no longer read any scientific studies and instead, can only quote 'hate' and insults.
It just goes to fit that a recent study found that those with higher IQs tend to be vegetarians. Y!A Kinda proves the point, doesn't it? http://health.yahoo.com/news/170005;_ylt=Ar0jfBmeU1ChT3MmcszYXz0Yu7cF
ROFL on Barry's "Darfur" lecture. Shouldn't the people who come on here 8itching and moaning about vegetarians, vegetarians who aren't hurting anyone, be more worried about that than saying things like "You are going to die if you don't eat meat," or "Vegetarians are crazy and angry," and such? Really, put your money where your mouth is and stop patrolling the vegetarian section. Get off the computer and go stop the atrocities of Darfur if you care so much. lol. scoff.

Um, wait... what are you talking about? Can you please explain this to me? Hehe. Just kidding.
Some people are just little punks, you know? Others are just a little misguided, and some genuinely believe they have good information. The important thing is to remember to show compassion toward the the misguided ones and the ones who mean well... say what you will to the little punks. Though I do try to ignore them, I mess up sometimes and say rude things in return.

The more important question is why people take Yahoo answers some seriously. Its a stupid little question and answer board that's really meant to help people out with silly little questions. Yet people turn it into some sort of activist board, like what they are doing is really going to change peoples minds. Sure, I like coming on here and giving my opinion on how to bake the best bread, or what team will win the World Series. Stop acting like what you "preachers" of yahoo answers does makes any sort of difference, lighten up, and enjoy this for what it is.

Who are you to say they know nothing about the topic? People are curious, ask questions, give opinions, their beliefs, try to give helpful answers, tips, ideas, or assumptions. Isn't that what a question forum is for?

most people are curious about it and they are trying to learn in their own way about the subject instead of opening up and asking directly about the subject.

OK stop with the in-group out-group divisiveness already.
Bad enough we can't be American without the damned hyphen.
