That would depend on the diagnosis. If it's an upper-respiratory infection I wouldn't be surprised to see that combination...the antibiotics would fight the infection and the clariton would clear up the sinuses. The Clariton isn't healing the infection, just treating the symptoms, but the antibiotic alone won't clear the symptoms for up to 48 hours. So the Clariton makes you feel better while the antibiotic actually makes you better.

You can take both. Antibiotics treat infection and medicines like Clariton D are for allergies and help relieve congestion and treat allergy symptoms. You're fine to take both just dont drive until you see how you're react to the Clariton because the antihistimine in it can make you sleepy.

Yes, the antibiotic is in case you have an infectoin and the Clariton is to treat the symptoms while the infection is cleaned out of your system.

i have known some doctors to perscribe both to cover their bases. well clariton d also helps with allergies. the antibiotics will cure up any infection in the nostrals that may exist.

both are needed to effectively treat the problem.
