If your grocery store has rotisserie chickens, grab one of those. Serve some cheese and crackers to start, or some bread spread with pesto sauce and tomatoes. Serve the chicken (warm it up in the oven) with some steamed veggies and maybe some rice pilaf or something. For dessert, grab some berries at the grocery store. Serve them with some cool whip, or with a little bit of balsamic vinegar and sugar. Add coffee or tea, and you've got yourself a meal!

Here's your meal in a quick stop at the grocery store!

DELI: Buy a Rotisserie Chicken. Cut up (easy) and put pieces on plate for serving, along w/ juice. Save for last, maybe get yoru MIL or DH to do this.

PRODUCE: Buy a bag or two of cleaned, trimmed veggies, ready for steaming. Use the microwave, and you can serve in your steaming dish. They come in blends like brocc/cauli/caorrots, or individual veggies. Season w/ salt and a tad of butter. (You can also find bags of ready to steam veggies in the freezer section.)

Buy a bag of Baby Greens Salad. Add to it Craisins, Crumbled Blue Cheese, toasted nuts of any sort, diced tomatoes, and a simple vinaigrette (homemade or bottled).

BAKERY: Grab a hearty loaf of artisan or 7-grain or sourdough bread. Serve w/ soft butter or marg.

FREEZER: Grab a tub of Pineapple Sherbet and a 2-lier bottle of 7-Up and make 7-Up Floats w/ P/A sherbet for dessert! You can use diet or reg. 7-Up.

Rack of lamb with new potatos and a fresh green salad.

Smear the lamb with garlic butter, and press into some finely ground chichorrillos (carb free deep fried pork skins) instead of bread crumbs. Bake at 350 for 30 minutes for rare, 375 for 30 minutes for medium. Serve with mint jelly, fresh asparagus spears, par boiled new potatoes and a fresh green salad.

This is a simple and impressive meal that is heart smart.

Either a nice fish or chicken would be good. Serve with rice and some veggies. With a nice salad.

Pick up some chicken and a quick marinade. Pick up some frozen veggies to boil and a box of brown rice. If you want, grab one/two of those bagged salads as well....

Pick up garbage from McDonalds or Wendy's, that will teach them not to come over 'unexpectedly'.
