My sister threw a party for her best friend a few months back. They converted the whole house into a spa treatment. One area was all manicures and pedicures, other facials and hair treatments and the next massage areas. Of course all had the scented candles etc... Was a little on the expensive side but if there is a beauty school in your area I think you could actually hire some of the soon to be graduates to provide all the services at lesser expense.

Well...how bout a girls nite out......round up some close friends go see a movie and then maybe a nice dinner where the restaurant is candle lite....or if you want to keep it on the cheaper side make your sisters favorite meal and rent a good movie (not a good cook order in and still watch a rental movie at home....chic flicks sounds like it would do the job....as far as decorations, I would keep it simple maybe pink and purple candles throughout the house...1st step is choose the colors you want to use and run with it....HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A BLAST!!! Oh by the way sitting around having a drink and talk in about old times is a great thing to do...I know this may sound like something only old people do but I am only 21 and me and my friends do it all the time. We share great laughs this way.

I recently did a "girly" bridal shower - you may be able to re-cycle some of those ideas...
I used pink feather boas as the centerpieces. They layed straight down the center of the tables and I had balloons weighted under them. I also used them around the cake and some of the other dishes. I pulled out the the silver tea set for coffee & hot cocoa and all the dishes were served on or in silver serving dishes.
You can get blinking tiaras at wal-mart for like 88 cents each I think. All the guests could wear those and you could get a bigger one (or a full-on crown) for your sis. If you've got the money, pick up some little wands you can lay across each plate and put a tag on them that says "happy birthday princess ..."
For favors I used those little clear cinderella slippers & I hot glued some marabou in a little circle and put a shiny jewel in the center of it so it looked like the embellishment on the shoe. I also used the wilton favor "bags" - little white bags with a silver handle and they are tiny - they looked like little purses.
Use lots of pink or white balloons (probably best to stick to one color if you aren't throwing a big party). Get a spool of tuelle at wal-mart (around $6 I think) and tie a huge bow where the streamer meets the balloon. It's light enough that it won't weight it down and definately looks super girly!
Mix some candles in with the food display (or on the tables if you're not doing a buffet). I'd suggest using white lace tablecloths with a disposible pink tablecloth underneath it.
Go to your local dollar store and get some pink scrunchies or hair elastics - use them for napkin rings on the chinet luncheon size napkins.
If you do decide to use the boas, pick up some rhinestone jewels at the local wal-mart and sprinkle them around. The candles will definately make them sparkle.
Try your local party store or target for some pink plates. Target recently had some square ones which really pulled off a nice punch.
Definately get some flowers - they don't have to be roses. Especially this weekend, there should be plenty of the pinks and whites left over at supercenters and grocery stores you could pick up on discount. You should have flowers with the food & on the table if you're doing a sit down and it's nice to have some in the restroom as well.
Good luck & have fun - it will be a blast!
ps: I'd suggest a spa gift certificate as a gift or hair and nail certificates, her favorite perfume, etc. Perhaps mention these types of gifts to the guests.

Well considering you didn't state your budget or how many would be attending and if you wanted to keep the party in or take it out on the town...
You mentioned candles, so you could decorate in candles, mirrors, plants or flowers... I'm not sure what your goal is...
If it's cheap ways to decorate her apartment with and use even after the party, I would go with candles, mirrors, plants, and things like that - but if it's a disposable theme you seek, why not go to your local craft store or department and purchase things to do a beach theme...
You could serve fruity drinks and buy everything you need at basically any dollar store and she'll be able to keep the things too!
(Margarita glasses 1.00 each, A table cloth, 3.00, a centerpiece which could be a variety of things, be creative!!!) you could buy flowers and real tropical plants, paper machete lights and strands of decorative lights, how about Hawaiian skirts & lays?
Go to www.gardenridge.com
www.partpig.com and www.hobbylobby.com for ideas!!!
You can purchase most of it between dollar stores and Department stores like Walmart or Target!

Disco balls, strobe lights, fog machine and lava lamps? The easiest way to make it look cool would be to get a crap load of helium balloons with ribbons and let them free float in the party room, make the balloons and ribbons black light friendly and change all the bulbs in that room to black lights. If ya can get your hands on a fog machine, that would be the icing on the cake. You could get creative and put a light snack on the end of the ribbons and make people eat them with no hands. Good luck!

I would do something funny, like throw her a Disney princess party, Bratz, or Barbie, It's very girly and it would be so much fun. Your sister would get a real kick out of it.
