Yes its great , certainly better than the muck the supermarkets serve however some are better than others, most indian restaurants are in fact owned and staffed by bangladeshis ,not that there is a lot of difference in cooking styles , but some people have misgivings about the slaughter method used to produce halal meat. a genuine indian vegetarian restaurant would be safe. of course you dont get a pork curry, thats actually a goanese dish. the best is chicken jalfrezi.

You bet it is. Even though Indian curry (equivalent roughly to sauce but not exactly) is pungent and spicy it aids digestion, makes you sweat, tones up the immuno system and prevents colds especially winter. The stuff called 'milakutawney' or 'mulligaytawney' (otherwise known as plain 'rasam' in the Indian language of Tamil) is one of the best digestive (non-alcoholic) around. Pity not all restaurants make it. The 'masala' or seasoning for non vegetarian dishes all have anti septic properties. Many Indian dishes are purely vegetarian and so have low cholestrol content. It is possible to have a filling meal completely devoid of meat of any kind......a healthy way of living, eh....and the high fibre content of lots of vegetable keep your bowels moving every day.

Hi

The base of a curry is oil and spices, I mean, for an Indian Curry it will be lots of spices. So if you do not have stomach problems, you may eat them without problems. Sensitive stomach - eat moderately. As regards to the oil you can ask the cook to use it moderately. Otherwise, enjoy.

I've worked in these curry houses and i can tell you that some of the curries are full of so much **** you will not believe it, others are ok. I'm 22 and have been dining on curry for as many years and there is nothing wrong with my health.

Curry is good for you - Indian resturant curry is a different matter. It is the spices in curry that are benificial not the Indian resturant!

there are over a billion Indians, so it must be good!

actually many the spices have digestive & medicinal properties, so they are good for you.

obviously like in any restaurant they are full of cream & butter but if you make them at home, they can be quite healthy.

No way...the food is disgusting. Try Pakistani food and don't confuse it with Indian food. Where it says Halal Indian Pakistani cuisine go there. Where it says Indian cuisine, stay away! U want taste go to Pakistan.
