There are several red rashes on my body. I don't have an allegy problem. I see a doctor about it and he examined me and told me that it was STD. I was not told what exactly the disease is and there was no blood test. I guess it might be syphilis. But there isn't any red marks on my palms or base of my foot. The red marks are mainly on my body and near my private area. I had sex with a guy in December but he doesn't had any signs of the disease. I slept with my ex-boyfriend for 3 years before this guy. How do I know whether Iam cured or not even if the marks disappear?

how should we know? this is a question for your doctor....he can actually SEE these rashes. it is illegal to give out medical advice unless you are a licensed, practicing health care expert.

Your mistake was hearing the words "you have an STD" and leaving before you found out exactly what it was, how you contracted it, how to cure it, if your partners need to be treated, and when to get the recheck to make sure it's gone.

Are you sure he said "STD"? You said there was no blood test done. Did you get a vaginal, anal, oral swab? I'm finding it hard to imagine how the doctor diagnosed you, and how you escaped his office not knowing anymore than you've told us?

You need to return to this doctor, get clarification, and if he says you have an STD, ask all the questions in my first paragraph, then ask for copies of your medical records and labs, take them with you and seek a second opinion from another doctor.

I doubt very much if you have syphilis because that would have got you a very large shot in the rear, plus a visit from your local health department. Syphilis is uncommon and since it can be latent for a long time and deadly if not treated, they take outbreaks very seriously.
