Veganism is a philosophy and lifestyle that avoids using animals and animal products for food, clothing and other purposes.

Vegetarianism is the practice of not consuming meat, with or without the use of other animal derivatives, such as dairy products or eggs.

Vegans will avoid using animal tested products, dairy, eggs, or ANY source of food that contains animal parts, etc. Such as gelatin found in Jello, leather for pants, etc. and have absolutely NO exceptions.

Vegetarians also have similar views. I, myself am a vegetarian, and am AGAINST animal testing/clothing. although, I do eat dairy products such as cheese, milk, etc.
although. i do try to substitute milk with animal friendly SOY milk.

hope i helped

Besides not eating animal products, the heart of the matter is that vegans have adopted a lifestyle that respects all animal life and seeks to avoid exploiting animals in any way. That means that a real vegan will not wear fur or leather, nor even buy a car that has leather upholstery.

"Vegetarian" is a generic blanket term used to describe anybody who does not eat meat, poultry, fish, or seafood.
Vegetarians are generally those people who have chosen a diet with far less restrictions than those chosen by a vegan.
A vegan is a person who has chosen not to consume any animal products or byproducts.
A few of my friends are vegans, and they say it is one of the hardest things they have ever done, but they are glad they chose that lifestyle...
A few of the websites I have attached give some background, as well as some recipes and educational info about this...
Hope it helps!!!

From what I understand, a vegetarian is someone who does not eat meat from an animal. Vegan is someone who does not eat ANY product from an animal, whether it be cheese, milk, eggs, etc. Often times they eat soy and other types of substitutes for such things.

Vegetarians eat anything which does not require the animal to be dead first. This allows milk and eggs and their by-products, and rules out all meats and fish, gelatin, some colourings and flavourings, and anything which requires the use of dead-animal by-products (eg most wines as gelatin is used to "clear" them).

Vegans eat (and use) only non-animal products - nothing from animals, dead or alive. So they will have no meat or fish, no gelatin, nothing containing or using meat by-products, no dairy, no eggs and nothing containing dairy or egg by-products.

Basically speaking a Vegan is person who adheres to a "Farinaceous" diet supported with folates and tubers, fruits and vegetables with NO meat products or by-product of any description whatsoever!
Rule of thumb: if it has a face, fur, feathers or fins, They will not touch it, or any part of it!
