Yes, actually, if you have an active infection you can give yourself a secondary infection in a different area

Do you mean if you have them can they spread? Yes. But if you don't have them....then you can only get them from someone who is infected. You cannot give yourself something that you don't have ...like common sense.

If you touch someone else's genitals and they are infected and you touch your own genitals you can contract it that way.
