Fresh mushrooms need to be kept in a dry, cool place. You have to check your container to see if it's getting damp. Also, do not wash mushrooms and then try to store....they'll go limp and turn brown everytime. They make a mushroom brush to get the soil off of them, which is preferred to washing them.

Yes, probably. Assuming they are as fresh as possible when you buy them 3 days prior, store in the fridge in the container you bought them in.

I leave them in the container they came in - unopened - and cover the outside of it with foil and keep in the crisping drawer in the fridge. The key is to keep them dark & cool.

I place them in a paper bag, not washed, wrapped tightly, and
then when you need them, I peel the outer skin off (It comes off
easy) just with your fingers.
then you are good to use them.

as long as they do not get wet-wash when you need them-keep in a cool dark place until needed.
