I buy it at the grocery store but I've seen it at pharmacies too.

For cooking or laundry??? For laundry, most major stores have spray starch, so I assume you mean cooking.. Put some arrowroot (don't buy it at a chain store, buy it in bulk at Winco or Costco, it's about 1/100th the price) or corn starch in a large cup, mix in water bit by bit, just until it's all dissolved. Pour this into a cruet or bottle with a tight top, making sure to leave some extra room for vigorous shaking, and refrigerate. When you need it, just pull it out and shake it to death until mixed again, it works pretty well... As far as where to BUY it, haven't a clue, just mix it when ya need it, it only takes a fork and a cup... Good luck.

It depends on what you need it for. You could probably make your own if you buy the powdered starch. You just need to determine to ratio of powder to water. Below is a link to an answer for making starch for ironing. If you are doing it for art purposes, check at the local Hobby Bench or Fanklyn Crafts or Michael's. Any craft store should have it.

same place as spray starch, just look for bottles of concentrated starch. My wife buys it this way and dilutes it in our own spray bottle. It is available at just about every store that sells spray starch.

I imagine most grocery stores would have it. Go to a bigger store- try walmart or something comparable. If you mix it with glue you get slime- kids love to play with that. :)
