If you have like clym or gon it could give you PID. If you have hiv you could be spreading it to the rest of the world. I really think it would be messed up if you had something and they didnt tell you to come in as soon as possible i mean it might freak you out but the sooner you come in the sooner you can be helped or relived. I am upset but i would think my doctors would tell me to come in immediatly if there was something wrong. I had gotten tested before and they have given me results over the phone except hiv. So i get tested again and one lady says they have the results but i would have to wait for my doc to sign it to release it to me i can call tomarrow and check or make in appointment. I said well do i need to come in immediatly or can i come like next week?she said next week was fine and that i could call tomarrow as well. I called and another lady said well since you made an appointment she will read the results then. Is that bad? I am freaked out!

Unfortunately, these privacy issues have been changing. The problem is that patient's privacy is very strict in healthcare. Therefore, its a touchy situation giving results over the phone because of anonymisoty. Nurses are not supposed to give results unless doctor gives the OK.
HIV results have to be in person because of privacy and legal reasons.
If you would've had PID, most likely, you would have shown at least some of the major symptoms. Especially in a pelvic exam. But yes, I agree with you, if something is positive they should contact you as soon as possible. And about spreading it to others, then people should wait for results before having sex. Simple!!

This is manditory for them to tell you about what is going on with yourself. As long as they got the result from the test and they are clear then they must tell you what is going on.
