Forgot to mention that I'm looking for shops specifically in Istanbul.
Cheers.

There is "helva", made from tahini. You can also try Turkish style fruit preserves. If you are in Turkey try any sweet shop or "muhallebici" for Turkish puddings. They have "kazan dibi" (bottom of the pot), "tavuk gogsu" (chicken breast), "sakiz muhallebi" (mastika pudding), "keshkul". These and many more puddings are delicious and light Turkish desserts. You should also try "kadayif", which is made from spaghetti thin dough, baked and soaked in syrup, and also "ekmek kadayifi", which is a kind of bread-like sweet. Two large discs cooked over low heat and soaked in syrup. They put ground nuts between the two layers or "kaymak" (a kind of cream). The sweets list in the Turkish cuisine is almost endless.

Turkish sweets are famous throughout the world and many of these have milk as the basic ingredient: "sütlac", "tavuk gögsü", "kazandibi", "helva", "asure", but the best-known are "baklava" and "kadayif" pastries.
