karen H - people's medical history is confidential, but if someone has unprotected sex with another person and they are aware of their postitve HIV status, they are committting a crime.

My understanding about the hiv antibodies is that it can take up to 3 months to develop. That is why patients who are at risk, are given a test. And if the results are negative, they ask them to retest in 3 months just to make sure. Unless they keep on having unprotected sex which makes it harder and its a neverending cycle.
