Okay so my boyfriend and I have only discussed oral sex, however I don't want to do anything yet becuase I'm worried about STD's. See he is 19 and when he was about 15 he regrets that he had sex with ex girlfriend then, it was his only sexual partner, but she was pretty slutty-she even was the one who pushed him into having sex-and she had a previous partner. They did not use protection sometimes either. It's been almost 5 years and he has never been tested, but I know some STD's never show any signs. He even said he couldn't trust what she told him anyway, but he is worried about his parents finding out if he went to get it done at the doctor. How bad is the risk factor and what exactly could he do?

He is 19 - he's an adult. Why would he be concerned about his parents finding out? He is taking care of himself and making sure he is healthy - sexually healthy anyway.

Tell him to get tested. Every STD can be tested through blood or urine. The only one he can't be tested for is HPV - because there is NO test right now for guys to detect HPV. It's better to be safe then sorry! You wouldn't;t want to get anything from him would you? And I'm sure he would be extremely upset if he knew he gave you something. Get tested!

Well, U need to bring him to a doctor for his complete physical examination and if required, other laboratory investigations. Any doctor doesn't expose any ailment of one patient to others, unless he is allowed by patient himself/herself. So, these all mattes remain confidential. Going Thru ur boyfriend's explanation, i come to a conclusion that u need to avoid any sexual relationship with him until all things get cleared to u. And ask for HIV test too at doctor. If he comes out to be suffering from asymptomatic STD, treatment is supposed to be started according to type of STDs.

Go to the local health department and have him tested so you stopping worrying so much. Be safe with this. It is better to get it done now then to wait and catch something later. Good luck!

Tell him to go to the local health department for testing. If your state is like mine, they will NOT tell his parents (the law protects his privacy).
There are some things that can't be tested for at all (such as HPV), so protect yourself as much as you can. That means abstinence is your best bet, and use condoms if you choose not to abstain (including non-lubricated condoms for oral sex). And please, see your doctor and get the HPV vaccine (called Gardasil) for yourself.
