A female friend of mine just told me that she thinks she has oral herpes. She has a bump under her tongue and another one in the back of her mouth. She doesnt have anything outside of her mouth though. She said shes bumps showed up about to days ago? Could this be herpes? on the 28th of last month she did give a guy head and I got the same from her on the 2nd of this month. If this was herpes shouldnt I have something too?

She should really be tested as soon as possible. It's just a simple blood test and they can tell her if she has either herpes simplex virus 1 (usually cold sore) or herpes simplex virus 2 (usually genital herpes).

Usually cold sores appear on the lips and around the mouth, but that doesn't mean that they can't develop inside the mouth, it's just more rare.

And, if she does have cold sores and she gave you oral sex then you can DEFINITELY get herpes from her. Cold sores CAN cause genital herpes.

I have personally had genital herpes for over 6 years. I have herpes simplex virus 1, which is usually cold sores, but I have it as genital herpes. So, it can definitely happen, trust me!

It also wouldn't be a bad idea for you to get tested as well. Good luck to you!

It sounds more like a blocked salivary gland that your friend may be having. If it was herpes and you caught it, you may not be showing any symtoms yet, so it is better that you're cautious though and do not have unprotected sex with anyone until you are given the all clear from herpes...i am sure you wouldn't want to pass it on to someone else. Also I would still clear of having sexual relations with a girl who 'gives head' to 2 different guys within a week.

plain truth...herpes can transfer from the mouth to your genitals. guys don't have nearly as many outbreaks as girls. some guys don't ever have symptoms. just because you don't have symptoms doesn't mean that you don't have it. herpes usually takes about 3 weeks to show up on a test. a doctor visit would be good.
