It's a deep purple. Just like the color of an eggplant (the outside)

An eggplant skin is very deep dark purple a green stem cap on the top. Sometimes the dark purple looks black and inside of the eggplant is about greenish white.

There are different varieties.
1- Round and dark purple
2- Long and dark purple.
3- Medium length light purple with white stripes
4- Small round white ones (used for making sweet preserves).
These are the varieties we have here in Cyprus (Mediterranean).
