Pros and cons of Verapamil for hypertension...?

I've been getting conflicting information regarding the safety of this medication. Can anyone give me some accurate details about this particular drug? Your help would be greatly appreciated. I realize all/any prescription medicine comes with side effects, but what do you know about verapamil?

Verapamil is an older medication of the calcium channel blocker class. Besides lowering blood pressure, it often lowers the heart rate.

Hi, I take Verapamil and another hypertension drug.It took two to get mine under control.But i have had no ill effects and it seems to be the only drug that has helped me.
