When it comes to heart attacks (myocardial infarctions) time equals damage. The more extensive the damage, the higher the likelihood of disability and death. The earlier a heart attack is recognized the quicker medical interventions can be initiated so decreased damage is done. Ultimately, what we are speaking about is saving lives. The problem with heart attacks is that victims, in general, deny that they are having a heart attack. They want to believe it is heartburn, reflux, or an anxiety attack. All of these things CAN feel the same as a heart attack. So, the best thing everyone should do is call 911 to get medical evaluation and help in a hurry. Better to have early diagnosis and save your life. Forget worrying about feeling embarrassed about finding out it was just the spicy hotwings you ate. We as healthcare providers would rather see you embarassed and alive. Than....dead.

First of all, if your a heavy smoker or drinker, you need to have regular check ups, and have a stress test,
MY father almost had one about 2 years ago, he went to the doc and had a checkup. This is what he said the symtoms where.....shortness of breath, and light chest pains.....he ended up having stents put in, to viens 95% blocked, the rest were 70% blocked, he had a total of 5 stents put in.
