hmmmm.... 14 is a tough age and I am 20 so here is what I think
instead of hiring a dj, you should have a set of speakers you can hook an ipod to... and have a playlist with dance music or something

a costume party would be fun, that's what i want to do for my birthday, but i'll be 21 over the summer

truly of going for a topic, i'd circulate with a coloration. Have a social gathering the place all people i required to gown a undeniable coloration or purely have your section adorned with a undeniable coloration which will probably make the social gathering extra grownup in the adventure that your searching for that. besides the indisputable fact that the main secure element on your record is probably purely doing random video games with song and foodstuff.

Pick a recent movie that they love and have a theme on that! Or you could have a theme based on MTV's "Super Sweet 16"!! You could have the guests walk down a red carpet & people snapping pictures. Your daughter could be the "star" that everyone wants to be seen with! Use your imagination and have fun with it!

how bout beach, hawaii, movies, colour, black and white, hollywood...anything along those lines...if you need more ideas, google 'teen party ideas' and you should get HEAPS of answers!!!

o yer and one other one...theres this partygame you can buy called 'whodunnit' or somehting along those lines, and the whole party is like a murder investigation...you let people know their character beforehand so they can dress [and act] to suit. but you have to get one of the adults to organise it so you can play and try to figure out the murder!

hope this helps

My son(13) his girl (friend) had a Fear factor party they all had t-shirts with iron- ons that looked just like the show, but said I survived _____'s fear factor party. There were prizes, they had challenges and had to eat gross stuff like pureed kidney beans. Not too gross, but gross. It was for girls and boys which 13/14yr old girls like (boys included). They had a great time.
