I had blood tests recently and am awaiting the results. I was wondering what can you tell from a blood test? Or what cant you tell from a blood test? Will they run a whole load of tests or just test me for anemia which they think i have, or will they run other tests just incase its something else?

They won't test you for STDs unless you ask them to specifically test your for STDs.

If they are just testing you for anemia and amenia related things they most likely will NOT test you for STDs. You have to ask them for that.

If you do ask them to test your blood for STDs they can find out if you have herpes (herpes simplex virus 1 & 2), HIV, hepatitis, and syphillis.

To test for anemia they look at your hemoglobin level, your iron level, your hematocrit, your RBC level, etc. If your hemoglobin is below 10 you will be told you have anemia and they may put you on some medication including iron. They may give you some intructions on your diet. You could have some chronic bleeding and if so and you know about it you should tell them what you know. YOu could have bleeding ulcers in your digestive tract. YOu could have severe and long periods that cause you to loose a lot of blood. YOu could have cancer or something else wrong with your bone marrow or wrong with your blood that would make you be low on RBCs (red blood cells) These carry your hemoglobin. Learn what a balenced diet consists of and be sure you are on one. Be sure to tell the doctors about all signs and symptoms that you have and they will want to test you until they find out the cause of your anemia. It could be serious or not, but you need the right diagnosis. so you can be fixed if possible and soon as possible.

to test for the HIV you would have had to sign a permit for it to be done....they can't just test you for that without your consent...if they think you have anemia more than likely it was a complete metabolic profile...it will give an idea of how the red blood is or if you are anemia, if any bacteria infections present, also how the liver is show up in this profile.....any high test they will first discuss with you and tell you what further testing they think you should have....or tell you about vitamins etc if you are anemic

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about five years back, when I was still in college and had a mindless one-night stand. I realize loads of people say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a huge mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date men again. In the end, who wants to go out with a girl who has sores around her "you know what" area? But since a friend shared this video https://tr.im/TeIhB everything changed.

Not only was I able to eradicate all remnants of the herpes virus from my body in less than 3 weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the man of my dreams and I'm so blessed to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This system gave me back the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I want to help others by sharing this story.

It truly relies upon on why you visited the well being care expert and what style of assessments they ordered. in case you provided with very time-honored indications (including being drained or down) the GP would many times do some ordinary assessments. commonly those assessments seem at lots of the mineral ranges on your blood, some hormone ranges, blood sugar ranges and blood count huge form. simply by fact those assessments are so time-honored, the belief is that if some thing became incorrect a number of those ranges would be atypical. this would supply the GP an concept of the place to look to discover the source of any difficulty. As I reported, those assessments are time-honored and any particular illness assessments (including for a sexually transmitted illness) would desire to be reported first. to respond to your question, those time-honored assessments can no longer rule out illness or an infection yet many times provides alerts of illness. the main serious suggestion for you and your well being care expert isn't your blood effects, however the style you experience. Many serious ailments including psychological ailment or melancholy will tutor very few atypical blood effects yet would be extra debilitating than a actual difficulty. So the main serious element is to no longer get hung up on assessments and investigations yet to speak brazenly approximately your existence style and problems so as which you well being care expert can right this moment get to the inspiration of any ailment and assist you cope with the priority. wish you experience extra acceptable quickly.

If the test was for STDs then that's all they will test for. Gonorrhoea, HIV and syphilis can be detected in blood, not sure about anything else.
