Someone else should organise it. Not you. Sounds good though. Whats the address??? lol.
Stab some chicken thighs, squeeze some lemons, or oranges, mix in some honey, and marinade the thighs for a few hours. Cook on barbi, and keep turning. Yummy...

Depends on how many guests you are inviting. But keep it simple! For large numbers, assorted cocktails can cause mayhem (early drunkenness and complete inability to deal with the barbie!). Pimms works well. Aldi does an excellent version of Pimms called 'Austins' which is half the price. Mix this with with lemonade 1:5 add mint leaves and lime / lemon slices. Its good to have several large jugs pre-prepared. I did this in the summer for 80 but did co-opt the help of a couple of young girls to help serve the drinks. Barbies are great, so long as the weather is good. If you've got the dosh, a hogroast goes a long way. Have fun!

You could have footballers wives theme, serving cocktails and canapes......barbi is a good idea for the time of year, but the weather isn't always guaranteed!
For my friends 40th last year she had a seventies theme....it was fantastic!!!
Whatever you do, have a good one....and Happy Birthday;¬}

You could do the barbie, hotdog and hamburgers and turn it into a stall and dress up like characters from grease. You can have some stall games and hire candy floss maker!!!!
Have a good day and i hope you get the weather.

How about a fun casino night. Or hire a wandering magician. Both good ways to break the ice at a party, and create interaction between your party guests

that's funny... I am having a 40th in May and I am serving barbecued ribs ( catered) potato salad - from my favourite grcery store, caesar salad ( my recipe - New Joy of Cooking); and some kind of dessert... havent decided that.
Speciality drink - sangrias, beer and wine and some kind of fancy non alcoholic thing.
Simple, someone else doing most of the work. girls version vs man-style LOL
I'll let you know how it goes!

That sounds good - why don't you theme it - I had a "wigs and white t-shirt party" for mine in the local, everyone made the effort and it was something reasonably simple to achieve, good fun trying to recognise people with different hair!
Have a blast xx

I would leave Barbi out of it you would only get that obnoxious Ken coming with her and that would be too much.
