I currently smoke but am getting ready to quit again. I quit before and I had those same symptoms. It's kind of scary when your heart feels like it's getting ready to stop beating or beating out of your chest. It's just your body going through withdrawls and eventually will get better. Kudos to you for stopping and if you get wore down from it, just pray to God every night to give you strength to fight it. It isn't an easy thing to do and I'll be thinking about you when I quit in a few days. Good-luck to you and I wish you many healthy years!

Been smoke free for over 11 years. I don't recall anything like that but it's not unlikely depending on your state of stress and physical ability. If it continues what's the harm in making sure you're okay. See a physician and the least that can happen is they could help you with your recovery from tobacco.

Hey man no worries I quit smoking about a year ago. I was a heavy chain smoker too. Until I joined the army. But it believe me its normal to feel withdraw symptoms because your body is addictted to the nicotine but dude no worries eventually the symptoms will go away. I had symptoms simliar you too yours, so don't worry. Unless your having chronic pains theres no need to really worry.

Hang in there each day you will feel better, cold turkey is the only way to go,been there done that. Best thing ever happened to me,if feeling very bad get some nicotine gum for a while.

Congratulations! My quit date is 2/22/07. I have not heard of the symptoms you describe in others I know who have quit...but that doesn't mean it's NOT. I would call your doctor and ask him/her what they think you are experiencing. Better safe than sorry, you know? Keep up the good work!

The only reason why your heart does that is that it is because your heart is getting used to you not smoking...but if it continues in at least 3 days...go to the doctor. Thank you for stopping and helping to stop global warming! www.stopglobalwarming.com
