ur probley having anxiety attacks. u feel kike ur not getting enough oxygen when in fact, ur getting to much oxygen and that will make ur heart palpate and u may feel dizzy. try breathing in a paper bag, while sitting down and ur heart will start getting back to normal beats.it wont hurt u, just makes u feel unconfortable. also dont take a shower or bathe in a tub of water while wearing an ekg. it will mess up the ekg. just wash off with a clean wash rag, until ur hours of wearing the ekg are up and its taken off. u may be having some issues that cause the palpatations and attackes so talk to ur dr. and he will prescribe meds to help u get over this. god bless

I have had palpitations for nearly 8 yrs, and have had every monitor in the book on me...you can not shower with one attached and they can be caused by just about anything. I have a rare disorder that causes it, and not many people know what it is.. I wear a bracelet that says what the disorder is and the palpitations. I have difficulty breathing too during this, the higher the number of beats, the less I can breathe...sometimes there will be no medical reason for the palpitations, they just happen.. I have had 6 cardiologists in as many years until I eas diagnosed with a neouromuscular disorder1-150,000 get. Sometimes a possum is just a possum. If they continue get a bracelet that says palpitations...good for EMT and docs. to know.

Heart palpitations are caused by different reasons. I personally have SVT (supraventricular tachycardia) and have alot of shortness of breath with my palpitations. On the shower part do you mean the EKG or the Holster Monitor? I know when I had the holster monitor that I was instructed not to shower while I was wearing it, so I would imagine that with any other sort of monitors it would be the same thing. I would think that the monitor would be ruined with the water.
