EKG. It didn't show anything. I'm supposed to have a stress test on the 14th. When I was hurting, it was under my left breast and neck. Can anyone who has a heart problem tell me if they had similar experience?

I've had the identical experience.Having stress on the 12th. Stress test should pickup any problems related heart function upon exertion. If not and the Dr. still suspects heart other test could be done.... Its possible it's not heart at all...Sometimes Gurd or other digestive problems coould be the cause. Relax it may be stress related as well...

I don't think you can simplify your situation by assuming that it is only anxiety...may be, but you should go through with the stress test as resting EKG are virtually useless unless you have previous ones to compare it to. Also, don't go to the other extreme and assume you'll have a heart attack during a stress test. It will give the docs much more useful information, which hopefully can put your mind at ease. I can really relate as my father died from a heart attack at a relatively young age, but I've had several stress tests and they were all normal. Find out if they are giving you a nuclear stress test as it shows more of what's going on in the heart when it is under stress.

EKGs, stress test, MRA, MRI, Chest x-Rays, Blood test are only one of several test to see if you have heart problems.
No one single test can confirm your condition or coronary arteries.
The most accurate test for blockages in your arteries that could cause chest pain is an angeogram .
Women seem to have different symptoms then men although chest pain is common to both. here are some other symptoms.
Lower jaw pain
Upper cheek pain
Pain in the back of neck
Shoulder pain either side
Shortness of breath
Queezy stomack
Dizzzyness
Iv'e had a triple by pass and three stens
Hope I have been of some help
Sincerely yours?

I have SVT and have dealt with chest pain alot. For me I'm able to tell when it's my heart and not just anxiety since my pain will usually be sharp and radiate from the left side of my chest into my left shoulder. I'm having an electrophysiology (ep) study and a catheter ablation done in June after I deliver my baby to correct my SVT.

Jamie, It's good to see a doctor, I had also this kind of pain, even when I breathed ached, I went to a doctor and she prescribed an anti-inflammatory, in two days the pain was over. In the days before I had lifted heavy stuffs Best Regards from Rio

Same thing happened to me, I had a heart attack during the stress test, went straight to the cardiac cath lab and had a stent placed.
They should have drawn blood when they did the EKG, to see if your cardiac enzymes where elevated.
