Yes I would say so... Thrush is a yeast infection. It is a bacterial imbalance that can be caused by something as simple as stress. It will make the inside of your vagina very tender which is why you may be finding sex painful. You should abstain from sex so as not to pass it onto your partner plus you will heal quicker xx

You CAN have vaginal thrush, it is not just an infection of the mouth.

The infection will cause you to produce less natural lubricant, and also thrush can cause pain (from swollen labia, itchiness, internal pain etc) in some people. It is advisable to wait until the infection is clear before having sex again, as it will clear quicker this way and also prevent it from passing to your partner. Your pharmacist can give you good advice on what to use to rid the infection

Are you sure it is thrush? There is a similar condition called bacteria vaginois that has very similar symptons to thrush but won't respond to the same treatment. It is a naturally occuring condition in some women & can also make you sore. Sorry, means a trip to the STD clinic for swabs to check.

How can you be sure you have passed thrush onto your partner though? Is it very clear for a guy as much as it is for a woman?

And yes, the pain can be associated with thrush. And vaginal thrush is way more common than mouth thrush!

Unless you want to pass thrush on to your partner, you should not have sex until the infection has cleared up. Note for bmac, thrush is NOT just an oral infection.

Don't have sex when you've got thrush - you and your partner will both keep passing it back and forth so you both need to get treatment. Also sometimes it speads inside of you and means you will need a stronger form of treatment. Go to the doctors for something but in the mean time a midwife told me to rub on live yogurt (something to do with the active ingredients acting against the thrust to stop it and its really soothing too)
