I made chili with 100% organic ingredients. So it cost more than the average chili, but I love it. This time I I used just a little too much chili pepper and it is a tad bit too hot. How can I soften it up? Would adding more dice tomatoes in sauce help to sweeten it?

Tomatoes will help and add some water to dilute it a bit. If your chilli is not too thick you can drain off any liquids and then add more diced tomatoes and water.

Yes add some more diced tomatoes and some Tomato sauce. That should soften it a bit.

Sweetening will make things less hot, so yes, tomatoes will help as will sugar, but adding a tablespoon or two of cream will also dilute the hotness too.

Serve with bread and it'll help too.

Add some tomato sauce or you could even add some butter to cool it down. Never add water! If you add more tomato sauce you will need to add sugar a liitle at a time to get rid of the acid taste.

add 1 peeled potato and some sugar and cook for 10 more minutes
take potato out and throw it away.most of chili will be absorbed in potato

note: to boil potato with over-salted food is the only way to collect salt from it

I know this sounds crazy, but try it. Sugar, you add a little sugar. Seriously, I don't know how it works but try it in a bowl first to see I'm telling the truth. Just a little sugar, taste it, if still too hot add a little more.

Yes add more tomatos to dilute it down. Try this. Add cucumbers. I love the slight taste it gives. Also cilantro is good too.
