I am having a party soon with a theme of "BLUE". I need ideas of decorating and doing something of a favor for each guest.

You should try to think about wearing blue clothes, or having cakes with blue frosting - those are two good ideas for a costume party and/or birthday party.

baloons filled with helium so they float up to the ceiling in different shades of blue. cover lamps with blue fabric in some areas. (but not all unless you want an under the sea theme). give everyone a blue lai upon arrival.

if you can't think of a single favor you love, you could do a grab bag of favors with a blue theme. blues CDs, blue jellybeans, candles, books, socks, Blues Brothers movie, bath products, etc.

You could bake sugar cookies, dye them blue, and give a few cookies and the recipe to each guest. You could also serve blue margaritas (with blue curacao, and salt mixed with alittle food coloring for the rim) and then give everyone a little jar of the dyed salt and the recipe for the margatias.

I recently discovered some blue corn tortilla chips that you could serve as a snack, with salsa or cheese dip. They are with the regular tortilla chips. For decorating, you could fill some pretty jars and vases with water colored with blue food coloring, with a little vegetable oil mixed in-makes a nice swirly water effect. Also, blue candles set down in clear glasses would be nice. Candles in a container would make a nice party favor, too. Am I invited? I will bring blue margaritas and wear my blue sweade shoes! LOL

Think in terms of "shades of blue" and not just a particular tone of it. You might think of having dark blue placemats or tablecloth, but sky blue paper plates and napkins. Or, if you're going with the real plates theme, then consider making napkin rings out of silk flowered stems with shades of blue periwinkles, tulips, gerberra daisies and so on. Centerpieces might include several deep blue glass containers with white flowers, mixed with bachelor buttons etc. Or shades of blue candles on your tables.
I'd stay away from an all-blue menu though. People have an odd reaction when what they're trying to eat isn't its normal color. Here are some ideas:

1. Hot artichoke and crab dip with blue corn tortilla chips
2. Blue crab bisque
3. Spinach salad with fresh blueberries

and so on!

For favors, how about See's truffles either in white boxes with blue ribbon or blue tulle with flower ties?

There are movie posters - like Blue Hawaii, Blue Lagoon, Blue Monday, Blues Brothers, etc.

Music - Blues, Blue Moon, Blue Suede Shoes, Blue

Party favors - You could buy the smallest gift bags (blue) and fill with blue wrapped candies - tie with blue ribbon.

Tiny round bowls (like fish bowls) - filled with blue raspberry Jello with one gummy fish pushed into the center with a skewer (after the Jello has almost set up).

what age group will the party guests be? If they are young kids could do "Blues Clues" cartoon as the theme.
