Not for use at home-don't care if I ever use them again. Inexpensive is what I need, I just don't want to use plastic or disposable.

#1-I live in the Chicago area, please recommend stores in the area or online.
#2-I have an extensive collection of crystal and stemware. I have invested literally thousands of dollars in them. I don't want to use them because the party is not in my home and it isn't safe or convenient to move them.
#3-decent plastic wine glasses (not the 2 piece cheapies) cost $2-3 per glass, for that expense I'd rather have glass.
#4-beverages, especially wine, tastes better in glass rather than plastic. The petroleum used in making plastic leaves a residue and the taste/odor is transferred.
Thanks.

Go to a party supply house or a restaurant supply house. Or call a catering company and rent some.

Wine glasses are not cheap and are not made to be cheap. They are made to last and you will pay for that if you buy glass. If you find some at places like Pic n Save or a dollar store, beware, the last thing you want is for your guests to cut their lips or tongues on cracks or chips. The lawsuits will happen.

Dollar stores sometimes have wine glasses.
Also check restaurant supply stores for not only wine glasses, but inexpensive plates, serving dishes, etc.

For inexpensive bistro glasses, go to a restaurant wholesale supplier.

(If you have a favorite family or other inexpensive restaurant who knows you you might be able to cut a deal: ask if it will pre-pay order for you with understanding it will buy them from you after the event for 25 or 35 or 50 cents on the dollar).

Pier 1. On-line or in stores. $2-3/each. I got them for my wedding and was VERY happy w/ them - not bad quality at all for the money. Pier 1 has an in-store availability feature on-line so you can check which locations in your area have stock. You can also call the stores and have them hold for you.
