HIV usually doesn't have alot of symptoms, especially early on like the first few months after you get it, possibly years. The main symptom of HIV is the diseases you catch that you wouldn't catch with a normal immune system. It's possible you just have a coincidental cold. Funny story that happened to me was a herpes scare, because I had just gotten done giving oral sex to this guy, and later that day I felt this weird blister on the inside of my cheek, that stung. So i went to the ER lol because I was trippin, and they told me the blisters started out as a symptom of a common virus that was going around that I had, not an STD, just sort of like the flu, and that while I was engaging in oral sex the inside of my cheek being sucked in between my teeth (cus when you make the sucking face that's what happens) had made the blisters that were already there that I didn't know about worse. Sometimes weird coincidences just happen, and she should have told you before you had sex that she was HIV positive, that's bullshit and I'd be pissed the **** off. But condoms are pretty effective against HIV, I'm willing to wager that you're fine.

Not if your HIV test was neg. There are really NO symptoms of HIV, only an increase of opportunistic infections that negative people can also get. It sounds like you have a chest cold, and a back ache. When you start getting "symptoms" such as oral thrush, Kaposi's carcinoma, excessive weight loss, diarrhea, etc. It's usually because your T cells have dropped to the point of being full blown. But HIV is so very manageable now. It's almost like having Diabetes. Sure, you can't die from diabetes, only from complications of diabetes. And, assuming you are in your 20's, if you were diagnosed today with HIV (for GP, lets say you are 25), you could live 40 years with today's technology. That would make your prognosis death by age 65. But if you factor in whatever science may come up with, I would optimistically add another 10-20 years on that. Prognosis now death by age 75-85-which is a normal life span, right?

It depends on how long you have gone since your exposure to it. HIV can incubate for 3, and in rare cases, up to 6 months before it shows up on a test....Even at that, HIV attacks your immune system so that you are more susceptible to disease, so symptoms will be very misleading.

I'm definitely no doctor, so don't take this as medical advice, but it sounds like you have bronchitis or pneumonia.

those are very general symptoms. maybe you should get another test done if you are worried. it takes up to 6 months for the hiv antibodies to show up in the test.

i read your update and you answered your own question - if it's 6 months after you were possibly exposed and you tested negative then you obviously DON'T have HIV. if you are still worried that it could be something else go see your doctor.

If you're still worried ask for a repeat test. Other than that, you have a sore back and a cough, neither of which is usually viewed as an STD. See the doctor!

There are no symptoms of HIV. You wouldn't know you were sick until years later. If you've been tested at least six months after unprotected sex, you're fine.

Stop being a hypochondriac. You're going to drive yourself insane.

THE FACT THAT YOU ARE ASKIN IS REASON ENOUGH TO GET TESTED
