Please see the web pages for more details on Heart murmurs.
Murmurs are abnormal heart sounds that are produced as a result of turbulent blood flow, which is sufficient to produce audible noise. This most commonly results from narrowing or leaking of valves or the presence of abnormal passages through which blood flows in or near the heart. Murmurs are not usually part of the normal cardiac physiology and thus warrant further investigations. However, they sometimes result from harmless flow characteristics of no clinical significance.

My heart skips beats all the time. I have been to the doctor a number of times, like when it seems worse. All the doctors tell me the same, it is normal. Almost everyone's heart will skip. I 58 and it still does it. I just don't pay any attention to it anymore. Also, many many people have heart murmur's. No biggie either.

Basically everyone has a heart murmur. It is a question of degree. (A heart murmur is caused by some blood flowing backward across the valves during the heartbeat) My ex wife had numerous PVC's (premature ventricular contractions-- that is when the larger chamber of the heart beats before it gets filled with blood from the upper smaller chamber). she had on average 2-4 pvc's per minute. (She had had Rheumatic fever, and had "rheumatic heart") The doctor wasn't very concerned, and it doesn't seem to hurt her.

I have heart murmur (since I was born) and I have no heart problem. It does not affect anything. I don't know how severe yours is, but, you need to go see your regular doctor. They will do EKG and tell you if there is anything you have to worry about. Some people have to take antibiotics during dental procedures. Believe or not, heart murmur can be harmless.
