HPV is a virus that causes genital warts, that also appear around the anus. You need to go to the doctor and they can remove them by an acid or freeze them off. Then after that there is an expensive cream that you can buy and helps your immune system fight against the genital warts and hopefully it would keep them at bay. I haven't had them appear around the anus but have read about them on any medical website looking for sexual health issues and STD's.

You need medication to get rid of them. And, even though the warts may physically disappear you will still have the virus that causes them - HPV. There is no cure for HPV.

You really need to see a doctor to get treated. They can prescribe you some cream called Aldara or Condylox. I have personally used Aldara, and even though it took about a month for the warts to fully go away, the medication worked great.

If the warts are more severe there is medication that can be applied in the doctors office. The medication is stronger then the cream I mentioned above and the person has to make several trips back to the doctor until the warts are gone. This can get pretty expensive too.

And, if the warts are REALLY bad you can have them removed. They can be burned off or frozen off. Both, I have heard, are very painful.

Also, do NOT use over the counter medication for anal warts. The medication they have over the counter for warts are warts like on your hands or feet. This medication is too strong to be put on a sensitive area like the genital area. It can give you 2nd and 3rd degree burns if not used right - no joke. Good luck!
