Do you or someone you know have diabetes? What were the symptoms before you were diagnosed? I have been urinating very frequently lately. And it doesn't feel like a UTI because i have had one before. This time when i urinate it is a lot at a time. Rather than the constant urge to urinate, and there is nothing. I don't drink an excessive amount of water, maybe 12-15 ounces a day. But i have been home for one hour, and went to the bathroom three times already. Also, if i don't eat for a few hours i feel nautious, and sometimes i feel like i am going to faint if i go too long. And i have been sleeping about 10 hours a night, which is abnormal, i used to naturally sleep 8 hours. I have no idea if this has anything to do with... anything really. I don't know a lot about diabetes. But i am concerned. Is this something to be concerned about? Or am i being a worry wart.?

I also have a fast heart rate. Right now my heart is beating at 130 beats/minute. It usually stays above 100. Does this mean anything? My doctor usually associates it with nerves, but it is always like this.

I don't have health insurance, so it is not easy to go see a doctor. But i think i am going to see if they can do some blood tests on me.

I am type 2 diabetic, my best friend is type 1 as is her adult daughter.
I was tired all the time, I could not get through the day without having at least a couple of hours sleep in the day. I was also drinking and peeing a lot but I didn't figure that one out as it crept up on me slowly. I was vomiting a lot which the doctor put down to the diabetes as it stopped when I started eating the right foods.

I don't think you are being a worry wart. If you cannot afford a doctor, why not buy a cheap home blood glucose monitor, they are on the market for a just a few dollars in some places. If you self test over a few days you will get an idea of what your blood glucose is doing and get a doctors appointment if you need to.
Your heart rate is fast, that should really be checked up too.

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

My Dad had a lot of those symp's b4 he was diagnosed w/ diabetes. The most tell tale sign for him was feeling extremely fatigued, like he had absolutely no energy. I guess those symptoms can indicate a few things though so the best thing to do is see your doc. The test is very simple. It's not good to cut out all sugar in the meantime because if you have it you don't know which type. When blood sugar goes too low diabetics(of a certain type) are told to eat a hard candy to elevate blood sugar quickly. Call your doc!

You're not a worry wart- you do have some signs of diabetes- excessive urination, increased thirst, dizziness, nausea between meals and especially 2 hours after a meal that had sugar--- get to see a doctor-- in the meantime- CUT OUT ALL SUGAR PRODUCTS- use sugar substitute- don't eat fruits with sugar either and keep your meals small and more often like meat and potatoes and a good veggie and have snacks inbetween every 4 hours of cheese and crackers--- skip peanut butter it has sugar--- get to see your doc asap--- you have diabetes.

I think you really need to see a doctor and get a good medical checkup to see exactly what is going on. A member of my family has diabetes but didn't find out until she had a severe hypoglycemic episode. Fortunately she didn't die. I think you would be better off getting all the appropriate tests and knowing for certain what was going on rather than fishing around here on Yahoo Answers. Best wishes for a clean bill of health.

Type 2 diabetes can go on for years with out being diagnosed?

I have diabetes and I am able to controll it with diet.

The symptoms of high blood sugar are
extreme thirst
weakness
frequent urination
fatigue
weight loss
blurred vision

symptoms of low blood sugar are

hunger
nausea
weakness
headache
sweating
irritability
shaking
confusion

And during the day you can bounce from one to the other

Not every body experiences these symptoms when blood sugar levels are outside the optimal range.

You need to go to your dr's in may be diabetes or it could be a condition of having lower than norm blood sugar's

For a diabetic diet

it is recomended to have the following meal plan according to the diabetic association

For a 1200 calorie diet have the meals as follows

For a 1500 calorie diet have the meals plus have either a 300cal snack at night before bed (and I know that every one says that you should not eat before bed but for diabetics they can not go that long with out eating[to lower your fasting am blood sugar you need to eat before bed])

For a 1800 calorie diet have the meals plus add a 150 cal snack in the mid morning and mid afternoon and a 300 cal snack before bed

For the meals to keep sugar level you need the following

Breakfast about 340 cals
2 starchy choices
1 fruits & vegetables choise
1 milk choice ( the lower the fat the better 1% or skim)
1 protein choice
1 fats & oils choice

Lunch about 440 cals

2 starchy choices
2 fruits & vegetables choices
1 milk
2 protein choices
1 fats & oils choice
1 extra vegetables ( these are veggie's that do not have enough
cals to count as a veggie choice but the give
good vitamins)

For dinner about 500 cals

2 starchy choices
2 fruits & veg choices
1 milk
3 protein choices
1 fats & oils choice
1 extra veggie choice

Keep the portions small but have a mix of foods and when you eat a snack eat more than one food group protein and starch fruit and starch or veggie and starch

complex starches break down slower and there for keep sugars more stable whole wheat whole grains
old fashion cooked cereal

Type 1 diabetes usally hits kids and young adults under the age of 28

But people who are heavier can get type 2 at a young age now ever kids are getting type 2

Type one you have to go on insulin right away and you get very sick will not go undiagnosed?

take it as it is;
i am concidered a type 2 risk for diabetes, what i am about to describe may be scary if you are asking, but hold on, in the end there is still an easy, and not too costly way toshow yourself which way to go.
there are many factors which can cause this, we are well familiar with heridity and diet, but some medications can cause this too. although once thought to be only progressive, it is now found to be revrseable ( in some) by diet controll and exercise.
yes, a few warning signs come ahead,
exessive thirst(excessive)
frequent urination
mood swings ( when sugar levels are too low, depression, too high fatigue.)
simple things to look out for which may mean nothing at all are;
does the wounds ( scratches, bruises, etc) take longer than usual?
if you do not eat at night before bed do you wake up already shaking for no reason.
these are only a little of what i've had to know.
still if you question any of what you've now been told, the best way is to look in your local drug store.
the glucose monitors are now affordable enough to pick up one.
then test you blood levels and WRITE down the date and TIME, for about a week,MAKE sure to note what/ if anything you ate or drank before your tests.
the testing strips have each their own limits for low, normal,or high levels, if you have to use a new box Note the different levels for each one used.
if you are diligent with this, by the proper noting of only a week, you can give to your doctor a better and more accurate means of diagnosing what you are fearfull of.
do Not leave this one to your personal interprutation, what can be sublte signs of type 2 diabetes, may only be because you got too tired.
by doing it this way, you can cover all bases with a doctor's visit.
i now have to leave it up to the doctor of your choice to help calm these fears.
all i understand is if i had been given even this little bit of information i may not have entered an emerengecy room with a level of 450, and too close to ask for another chance to deal with this untill years later in life.
god bless ya,
now you know enough.
make the proper choice, sometimes time does count.

after reading this one again, i started to question the effects of caffine on a body already stressed out by strict fluid intake. is there a diet pill, tea, coffee, or other changes you've made that you can think of? look for the caffiene is soda too.

either way, please see your doctor for help, this is now more than a ane answer deal, your not dying, but go for help anyway.
please.
