Genital herpes is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) caused by the herpes simplex viruses type 1 (HSV-1) and type 2 (HSV-2). Most genital herpes is caused by HSV-2. Most individuals have no or only minimal signs or symptoms from HSV-1 or HSV-2 infection. When signs do occur, they typically appear as one or more blisters on or around the genitals or rectum. The blisters break, leaving tender ulcers (sores) that may take two to four weeks to heal the first time they occur. Typically, another outbreak can appear weeks or months after the first, but it almost always is less severe and shorter than the first outbreak. Although the infection can stay in the body indefinitely, the number of outbreaks tends to decrease over a period of years.

Genital Herpes is a latent virus which means the virus comes and goes. A person will usually break out with a sore or a cluster of sores anywhere in their genital area. The sore or sores will last about one to two weeks and then it will go away until the next time. Generally stress can cause a breakout. However there is no cure at this time but you won't die from it but you should use condoms cuz it is highly contagious especially during a break out period. You can be tested for this virus and there is medicine that can be taken to help avoid future break out but it would have to be prescribed by a doctor. Also you can find valuable info on the web.

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

Genital herpes is bumps in the private area. They make you burn,itch,and hurts really bad. You will have to take Valtrex. It want go away. You will have it for the rest of your life.
