I have had sinus surgery and it has been the single best thing I have done for myself. I used to suffer horrible headaches, chronic sinus infections, migraines etc, even as a child in elementary school I can remember headaches that literally made me dizzy. My doc suggested the surgery to cut away scar tissue that had built up and to repair a deviated septum(it's in the top part of your nose on the inside)probably causing my issues. I did the surgery and I can't remember the last headache I had. It has improved my breathing, less snoring, less headaches,an overall improvement of 90% I highly recommend it, it's real gross with the draining and mucuos stuff, but once you are past that,I tell ya the best thing I ever did to help myself. It's real simple, you have 2 black eyes for a couple weeks, but that's it. Don't worry, you'll see what I mean.Good luck.

I've had it to remove nasal polyps. The recovery wasn't too bad. The doc said I could go back to work in a couple days, but I really ended up needing about 5 days, til they removed the packing. Afterwards, I could breathe and smell again which was nice. But then the polyps came back, which was not so nice...This surgery has improved a lot since they started doing it endoscopically. Best wishes!

They didn't have to pack the nose with me, but I couldn't sleep lying down for at least a month because of the nasal discharge going down the throat. I slept on a recliner chair and always carried tissues because the discharge continued even though it was thinner. After a month, you find you can breathe normally again. Make sure you rinse out your nasal passages as it will help after you heal.
